Can scars be treated with cocoa butter?
Short answer: Cocoa butter may not be effective for treating scars.
Detailed answer
While cocoa butter is often seen as a moisturizing ingredient, there is limited scientific evidence supporting its efficacy in treating scars. Scars are formed by the overproduction of collagen during the wound healing process, and cocoa butter does not have the ability to modify collagen production or structure. It may help in improving the overall appearance and texture of the skin, but more serious scar treatments such as silicone gels, laser therapy, or steroid injections are usually recommended for effective scar reduction.
